Rowsell Sails is based in the well known kiting town of Exmouth, on the South Coast of Devon only five miles from the M5. Exmouth is home to a number of professional and amateur kite surfers and windsurfers who enjoy the epic conditions created by the famous Exe estuary tides, and waves off the seafront. The Rowsell Sails loft is located meters from the waters edge, and can be seen form the Duck pond, a popular kite and windsurf spot when the wind is up at high tide, so its not far to go for a repair!
The sail loft has been running for more than 30 years as a family business, designing and making sails and more recently, since the birth of kite surfing, repairing kites. Owner Frank Rowsell and his team are all keen kite surfers and previous windsurfers, as well as championship pedigree sailors so they appreciate the need for the correct lasting repair, enabling you to have extensive time on the water with no hassle.
Frank and his siblings started the sport themselves and after their own experiences and Franks existing ability in sail making started repairing kites and windsurf sails, enabling people to get the most out of their equipment increasing the longevity of the sails and kites even after some major damage.
Many locals and weekend/summer visitors have already made good use of our 24 hour repair clinic and have been delighted with the quick turnaround enabling them to get back out on the water with no time to waste. But you don’t have to be based locally as the company already makes sails and carries out sail and kite repairs for customers both nationally and around the Globe. So don’t throw out your damaged kites out, get them posted to Rowsell sails ASAP and have them repaired so you can get back on the water!
We have a wide range of colours, and all types of sail cloth for the most seamless repair possible and will repair any kind of damage in good time making sure we have it back on your doorstep the same week that we received the damaged kite! We can also repair old bladders where possible, or replace with new if its too badly damaged.
